prime factorizations: is a product of primes:
Find the prime factorization of 504:
2 divided by 504 = 252
2 divided by 252 = 126
2 divided by 126 = 63
3 divided by 63 = 21
3 divided by 21 = 7
The prime factorization is: 2 to the 3rd exponet
3 to the 2 exponet . 7
Find the prime factorization of 144;
2 divided by 144 = 72
2 divided by 72 = 36
2 divided by 36 = 18
2 divided by 18 = 9
3 divided by 9 = 3
Prime factorization of 144 = 2 to the 4th exponet, 3 . 3 ?

Mathematical Concepts 115 ch. 1,and 2
Subsets;
Subset formula: 2 to the nth power.
Proper subset formuls: 2 to the n power - 1.
Find the subsets and the proper subsets of the following:
43. 1,5, and 10.
subset: 2.2.2 to the nth power.= 8
proper subset is 8-1=7
45. a,b,c,d,e,f,
subset= 2.2.2.2.2.2= 64
proper subset= 64-1= 63
2. For the 3 sets A,B,C,
A=64
B=186
U= all of the elements of all numbers involved.
AUB=218
A intersect B is 32
186+64= 250
250-218= 32
3. Find the greatest common factor of the 2 intergers 240 and 450.
Finding The greatest common factor steps:
1. Write the numbers in a row.
2. Divide each number by a common prime factor. Try 2, try 3 and so on.
3. Divide the quotients by a common prime factor. Continue until no prime numbers will divide into all of the quotients.
4. The product of the primes in steps 2 and 3 is the greatest common factor.
240 divisible by 450= 30
240 divided by 450= a remainder of 210
210 divided by 240= 30 as the remainder
30 divided by 210= a remainder of 0.
The GFC of 240 and 450 is 30.
4. Perform the operation and give the answer as a fraction in lowest terms. 1/8-1/4=
1.2=2
8.2=16
1.4=4
4.4=16
16 is the least common denominator
2/16-4/16=2/16.
5. A=1,2,3,4,
B=2,5,1,4
find A intersect with B= 1,2,4.
intersct means numbers in common.
I will continue at a later time.
A psychology bachelor's degree in the future.
